Entry Number 1:
Ok. I think I’m ready to start this again. Sans has told me that it’s the best way for documenting research, and I believe him. Essentially, what we believe the problem in the core to be is quite simple. Sans has deciphered Gaster’s old notes of the core. It seems to be a power plant powered by the Earth. The lava from Hotland heats up a metal coil which causes copper to spin, and generate electricity. Gaster’s design for the core was an extremely intricate nesting of these power plants all over each other; if one were to fail, it could cause a chain reaction and cause the whole Core to fail. I think I could say that we’re lucky, in a way, that only ⅓ of the Core is failing.
I am looking into the root cause of the malfunction right now with Sans however it seems to be an error with the rotation of the copper. That part is the most essential part of electricity. This could mean there either is not enough water to be boiled (Which has some grounds to it since Snowdin and Waterfall are practically uninhabited wastelands right now) or that the rotator is messed up in one way or another. I hope it’s the last one, it would be much easier to fix
I don’t think Sans is doing great. To be honest, I’m not either, but still, the loss of his brother has clearly impacted him. He’s been cracking jokes and telling puns less. Maybe I should show him some anime? I don’t think that would help; maybe he would start saying more jokes, but it won’t bring back his dead brother. I just hope that he doesn’t read this, he might not like it…
“I’m finished,” Alphys said with a tone of finality in her voice. Sans turned his gaze to Alphys, his bitter face meeting Alphys’ serious face. “Do you think this weekly system is going to be better for us?” Alphys asked
“I don’t know if it’ll be better, but it’s what I’m used to. Besides, I think the longer format and the longer time to think will help you make your notes more concise,” Sans said.
“Hey, do you think that we should burn the old ones. I don’t want people to see them again,” Alphys said grimly
“Oh, is that one of your burning desires?” Sans asked. Alphys chuckled slightly as to
not seem rude however she didn’t quite enjoy the pun that had been said in the serious moment.
“No, but I’m serious about this,” Alphys said after a couple of seconds
“Oh, you’re serious? Well, they are important documents for history, so I would say no. Besides, they may prove useful in the future,” Sans said, dropping the comedic act and letting his serious side speak
"Ok, well, I must leave," Alphys said. She turned the computer off and walked out of the room. She had duties to attend to.
